Merry Christmas to Me

This year, I made a Christmas list. Then I emailed my husband one of the things on it. He ordered it for me. It already arrived and is sitting unwrapped near the tree. There is no surprise, but I am happy with the gift:

I'm going to open it next week and learn how to use it. The plan is to take it to my parents' house during the holiday break and scan some of our old photos, starting with those that are stuck in those horrendous 1970's photo albums with the sticky backs.

In time, I figure this will also come in handy when I am visiting with new-found cousins. They can share their pictures and I can scan them right there.

I'll let you know how it goes...

  2. So incredibly jealous!!! That's on my list too, but I don't think that I'm getting it. I must not have been good enough. That or else my husband just doesn't read my genealogy blog. :)

  3. Jennifer, my husband doesn't read my blog either. I just emailed him at work and said "buy this for Christmas." Take the bull by the horns.

  4. Amy, Not only doesn't my husband read my blog, I had to order my gift myself.

He thought it was a great gift and it is the thought that counts.

Looking seriously at one of these as well. Can't wait to hear what you think.

    Merry Merry

  5. Love it! I think there's a theme here. My hub doesn't read my blog either. And not only did I order my Christmas present myself ~ Epson Perfection V300 Scanner (most of my stuff to scan in my family is right here in my office)~ but I bought my Xmas present myself. I don't care tho', I love my iPhone 4G. I mean it. I. Love. It.

Let us know how you like it. Cuz my Anniversary and Valentine's Day are right around the corner, and I just might want to order, oops, I mean ask for one. LOL.

  6. Oh very nice! What a wonderful present. I have been looking into those. I have to have something light weight(under 5 pounds) so I can carry it. Been sending hints via links, to the two men in my like with "I want a portable scanner for Christmas please". Think they will get the hint?

  8. I used mine at Thanksgiving at my brother's (in Sugar Land) and brought home images of lots of pics I'd been looking for for years. Guess I wasn't the only one sneaking pictures out of Mom and Dad's house back when.

It is really nice--small, light, portable, scans well, etc, etc. I did burn through the first batteries but the replacement ones seem to be doing fine.

  11. I am hoping that the wrapped gift under the tree is a flip pal. I made sure my husband read the post when I explained what I wanted. Enjoy your gift.

  13. Amy, gerlfriend, get that thing out and start scanning now! You are going to love this handy dandy little scanner! And it takes all of about four minutes to figure out how to use it and that includes the time it takes getting it out of the package!

  18. Funny how you ladies all mention how your husbands don't read your blogs. I'm having the same problem with my wife! LOL.

After Christmas, I found that HSN.com had the Flip-Pal for 3 installment payments and free shipping! Hopefully will get it next week.
