Genealogy Program in Needville, Texas, January 21, 2014

Learn about some of the online resources that are available for family-history research at a special program, "Genealogy Online," on Tuesday, January 21, beginning at 6:00 p.m., in the Meeting Room at Fort Bend County Libraries' Albert George Branch Library, 9230 Gene Street in Needville.

Library Branch Manager Erin Petty will provide an introduction to some of the library's databases and free online resources that are available to the genealogical researcher, including Ancestry.com/Library Edition and FamilySearch. Tips and strategies for a more efficient online search will also be demonstrated.

The program is free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required. To register online at the library's website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on "Calendar," select "Albert George Branch Library," and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the library at 979-793-4270, or by visiting the library.

**Note from yours truly: make sure you check "Albert George Library" in Needville and not "George Memorial Library" in Richmond.
