The Ultimate Genealogy Purchase

Looky what I got:

It might look like a new car, but really it's an over-sized accessory for my genealogy toolbox.

It has giant tires, which is good because I may have to do a little off-roading to find the Jones Cemetery in Leo, Texas.

It has a step for the vertically challenged, which is good because I can't get in the dang car without it.

It has fancy directions, which is good because I'm pretty sure I'm going to get lost when I go hunt for Jones Cemetery in Leo, Texas. Now you know where I live. I expect the genealogy papparazzi to be outside my door any minute.

The backseat is big enough to handle hostile passengers and/or children who are not happy about being dragged on genealogy missions.

The back is huge and can store a gazillion book purchases. Next time I drive to a national conference, I'm in trouble.

There's even a PARTY button. What happens when it's pushed is a secret, but it might involve a disco ball.

So there you go, the latest professional tool in my genealogy box. I can totally write this one off as a business expense, right?

  1. Does it seriously have a party mode button? Because I have a Toyota Sienna, and it doesn't have that button. I have party mode envy.

If I were you I would need to take a road trip, like, immediately. Like, tomorrow. And I would have a playlist with Duran Duran and The Cure and English Beat, and it would TOTALLY be in Party Mode.

  3. Kerry, yes it does indeed have a party button. I kept telling people and nobody believed me, so I had to take a picture of it.

  5. I just had to Google that. According to Toyota the Party Mode "raises the bass and transfers the equalization to the rear of the vehicle". It is for music with the rear hatch open.

  9. "Party mode' should also open the sunroof - because you are going to want to share that loud music with everyone else!

  10. Good job! Are you bringing it to Jamboree so you can see how many geneabloggers you can get into it?

Can you program the GPS to search for all cemeteries and libraries on the way to your destination?

Both of my daughters have Siennas, but they're older and don't have a Party button (at least I hope they don't!).

  12. I am glad you are doing your part to spur the American economy. Do you have a rear back up camera?? That would be on my wish list since I have trouble seeing what is behind my car.

  13. Oh yeah, I'm totally digging your party wagon. It is just what every genealogy needs. I've got a pretty cool one myself (no party button though ;-( and I can't imagine tackling the off-road aspects of genealogy research without it! Rock it out, Sista!
