* Sam's birth year is in dispute. The stone says 1879, but other documents says 1878. See Sam's Find-a-Grave profile here.
I wonder if he got "combination" Christmas and birthday presents too - My grandfather, b. Dec. 26, said as a child his Christmas present was always labeled, "and Happy Birthday" as well! :)
